The Mesilla Valley Search and Rescue, Inc. (MVSAR) is a non-profit, volunteer organization based in Las Cruces, NM, whose purpose is to search for and rescue lost individuals in a variety of settings.
 

There are several different specialized teams within MVSAR, including the Ground Team, the Dog Team, the ATV Team, the Communications Team, and the newly formed Drone Team. Each of these teams is comprised of individuals with specific skills and training required for a variety of different search scenarios.
 

MVSAR meets the second Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. for about an hour and a half and has team trainings on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. to hone various SAR skills utilizing:

  • GPS

  • Compass

  • Maps

  • Binoculars

  • Stokes

  • Tracking

  • Search Scenarios

Our Team?

To Join MVSAR, attend one of our monthly meetings, Go through a 3 month Training/Probation Period. Within the probationary time, you have time to get your gear and pack check done and work on Your ICS training.

MEETINGS ARE HELD THE 2ND THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH, 6:30pm  AT LCPS CONFERENCE ROOM 505 S. MAIN ST.
